Thanks to the partners of the ‘SDGs and migration’ project (and its ‘Faces of Migration’ campaign funded by EU through DEAR programme), Italian organisation FOCSIV collected information and analyses on the reception systems that some EU member states (mainly from Central and Eastern Europe) have put in place to deal with the Ukrainian emergency. Some reflections are presented on the cooperation between states and civil society organisations, and on the challenges that this crisis has posed.
Of particular interest is the analysis proposed on the problems of discrimination against refugees of other nationalities and the propagandistic and instrumental use made in some countries against Ukrainian refugees and in support of the Russian sovereignist narrative. The background document ‘Reception Systems in some EU Member States during the Ukraine Crisis: solidarity and discriminations’ can be downloaded in English here.
