Member of the European Parliament, Slovakia
Miriam Lexmann is a Slovak Member of the European Parliament where she sits within the Group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats). She is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee (AFET) and the Committee for Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL), a substitute in the subcommittee on Security and Defence (SEDE), and a member in the EP Delegation for Relations with Belarus as well as the Euronest Political Assembly. Miriam is a
co-chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC) as well as of the EP informal Hong Kong Watch Group, and a member of the COMECE Commission on the EU External Relations. Prior to taking her seat in the European Parliament, she was the Head of the Brussels office and European Programmes Director at the International Republican Institute (IRI). She is a former Slovak diplomat, and worked as an advisor in the European Parliament
and the Council of Europe.
